Why an Orthodontist in The Woodlands? Orthodontist vs. Dentist
An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. All orthodontists are dentists first, but though not every dentist has the qualifications to be an orthodontist. Dr. Hunter continued her formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As an orthodontist, Dr. Hunter has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.
Why does it matter if you see your Woodlands Orthodontist?
Specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.
- Providing additional treatment options.
- Giving you more efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office’s primary area of care.
- Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite problems that need to be addressed.
- Personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concerns
- Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.
You may think it’s easier to have your orthodontic work completed by your dentist. Convenience shouldn’t be a concern, because you will only be stopping by your Woodlands orthodontist's offices every six to eight weeks.
Testimonials from your Woodlands orthodontist patients
My dentist is actually who recommended I go to Dr. Hunter as that's where he chose to send his kids. It was a great recommendation. Dr. Hunter's kind and friendly demeanor made me feel right at ease and his skills are top-notch. The rest of the staff played a huge role in the process and they're splendid too. Very nice, very talented. The results are absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier. Where I used to hide my smile, now I'm smiling brightly all the time. It feels great and I have Dr. Hunter and his staff to thank!
Dr. Hunter and his entire staff are beyond amazing! Everyone from the front office to the back office is kind, friendly and overall welcoming. Dr. Hunter has such a great personality and is wonderful with both my kids, not only for their orthodontic needs but takes the time to ask them about themselves, their days and what my kids have going on. Coming from a dental background myself, Hunter Family Orthodontics has set the bar high! Both of my children are and will continue to receive treatment from them. Again, I can not say enough good things about this office!
Hunter Family Orthodontics is a first-class operation! Their staff is very knowledgeable and professional. From start to finish it was a smooth process. With life being so demanding and chaotic, it was nice to know that my son’s orthodontic experience was never problematic. Thank you to Dr. Hunter and his staff for making this a wonderful experience with superb results!!
